The historic market town of Newton Abbot lies at the head of the
picturesque Teign estuary and offers both residents and visitors
a range of attractions including historic buildings, town parks,
sporting & leisure facilities and a busy racecourse.
Newton Abbot has a wide
choice of shops with three large supermarkets and a range of
independent stores and High Street names in a safe
pedestrianised area only minutes' level walk from the
development.
There are excellent
transport links to either Plymouth, Torquay or Exeter via the
A38 & A381, which connects to the M5 motorway, and by rail. The
mainline railway station is 3 minutes level walk from the
development with direct links to London. Also, Exeter
Airport is a short drive away for flights to an increasing range
of destinations.
There are a good range of
schools within the town with a primary school a short walk away.
Surrounding Newton Abbot
the undulating countryside
contains many pretty traditional villages, fine churches and
welcoming pubs and, of course, there are stunning coastal walks along the South West Coast
Path, bracing moorland hiking on the nearby slopes of Dartmoor
and tranquil strolls along the picturesque Teign estuary. There
is excellent offshore sailing from the coastal harbours and
marinas or sheltered sailing in Plymouth Sound and other
estuaries. The beaches are safe, sandy and also suitable for
windsurfing. Golf may be enjoyed at many courses, with Dainton
and Stover being nearby and many of the clubs have
associated country clubs with family leisure facilities.
